The Real Problem
It's not a willpower problem.
It's a nervous system problem.
You have been trained to override your body's signals. To push through the exhaustion, perform regardless of how you feel, and keep showing up for everyone else. In healthcare and public health, that's not just a habit — it's a professional expectation.
But here's what your training never told you: your body never learned to compartmentalize. While you were busy pushing through, your nervous system was doing exactly what it was designed to do — responding to threat. Years of chronic stress created a nervous system that never fully came down.
And that has real, measurable consequences. Elevated cortisol signals your body to hold onto fat. It disrupts your sleep architecture so even 8 hours doesn't restore you. It dysregulates hunger hormones. It creates inflammation that shows up as fatigue, gut issues, and physical tension you've normalized as just part of life.
No diet addresses that. No workout plan addresses that. Only nervous system regulation does. That's what this workshop is about.

Stephanie Gitukui, MPH
Founder, From Within Practice, LLC
I'm a holistic life coach and mind-body practitioner with a deep love for people, travel, culture, music, and the kind of conversations that help us come back to ourselves.
Much of my work is informed by my own experience — over a decade long career in public health, followed by burnout, a major life transition, and a long, honest reckoning with the life I had built. I know what it looks like to be competent and capable on the outside while something essential quietly goes missing on the inside. I know what it feels like to try everything and still not be able to reach yourself.
What finally helped wasn't more discipline or another wellness plan. It was learning to listen to my body — really listen — and understanding what chronic stress had been doing to it all along.
